My favorite trends at the moment

Honestly, I've never been someone who is very up to date with what is trending in fashion. Usually because whatever's on trend is not really my proverbial cup of tea. Lately, however, i've noticed that some of this season's biggest trends are so my style. I'm going to show you three of this season's biggest trends and tell you about why I love them and how to I like to style them.

Button-down denim
Whether it's skirts or dresses, I'm absolutely in love with this look. It's extremely 70's. As I've mentioned before on this blog, I love pairing denim with stripes. Honestly, there's no better pairing in my style-book. Also loving the denim-on-denim! I already have a skirt and a dress in this style, but I just went ahead and ordered another one. Oops.

Adidas Stan Smith
These have been on my wish list forever, and I'm thinking I might soon just go ahead and buy them. Yep, the Adidas Stan Smiths have been heavily trending and I'm late to the party. I especially love them paired with skirts or dresses, and I love that there are a ton of variations now. But I'm thinking I should get the classic white-green ones.

Off-shoulder tops and dresses
My absolute favorite trend for the summer. This style is so girly and beautiful, and I like that it shows some skin without getting tacky. This is especially perfect because I don't have a lot of cleavage to work with and I think this style works a lot better for me. Topshop and Zara have some really pretty ones!

Denim dress

Dress - Zara / Jacket - PCC / Shoes - Forever21

I feel like my go-to combo lately is denim and stripes. They just always work perfectly together and can be worn in so many different ways. I scored this mid-length denim dress at Zara a while ago, and I can style it in so many different ways! Well, usually combined with stripes.

Everyone who knows me knows I own a ridiculous amount of stripey shirts, and my friends always laugh at me when I buy more stripes. But to me they all have their own different 'vibe'. Am I the only one who feels this way?

I've not really been sure what to do with my blog now that Instagram is basically taking over my life. However, I do feel like I should post more outfits here again. It's always difficult with the winters in Holland, when it gets cold and dark and I basically hide in the same boxy sweater each and every day. Bear with me, I will try to be better!

Sharknado

Shark skirt from Lazzari, top from H&M, shoes from Nelly

I am so in love with this ultra quirky shark skirt! Basically everything by Italian brand Lazzari is something I would fall in love with, they're so creative and make things that are a bit silly while still being stylish and not completely ridiculous.

Lace

Top from Zara, scuba skirt from Blackfive

Big party today, because NSMBL's been around for three years! I've worked for this magazine for two years now and it's given me some of the loveliest friends and coolest experiences, the biggest of which is that I love going to work every single day. #cheesefest

I've had such a fun week! Went to a festival called London Calling (saw Klaxons and Keira Knightley was there!), Pull & Bear opened their first store in Amsterdam, went to see my friend Tanya who just had a baby, shopped at my favorite fleamarket and watched the Eurovision Songcontest ironically. How was your week?

7th of May

Shirt from ASOS, jeans from Pull & Bear, shoes from OMODA (here)

This is probably my favorite day-to-day outfit right now. This ASOS shirt has the perfect colour, these jeans are the best ever and the shoes are the comfiest.

Alexandra Grecco

I've been following Alexandra Grecco's work for ages, so when she asked me to style one of her signature pieces I was really excited! Alexandra is known for her dreamy designs with pastel colors and floating fabrics. This bouncy tulle dream makes me feel like a princess or a ballerina or a cupcake or Carrie Bradshaw.

I need new movies to watch because I feel like I've seen all the movies I think I'd like, but I know there's more out there! What are your favorite movies?

Hope you're all doing great and enjoying the first weeks of spring! I've had a hectic couple of weeks, a lot has happened in my personal life, but I'm okay and enjoying lots of carpe diem fun (I'm saying 'carpe diem' because I'm too old to get away with saying 'yolo'). I also went to see Beyoncé last week, which was of course everything. Regardless of your taste in music, Beyoncé transcends all.

It's starting to feel a lot like spring in Amsterdam! Which was definitely necessary, because I just got back from 1,5 week in lovely and warm Panama! I was there to do a report on carnival for NSMBL. More about that later!

Barcelona

Sweater from Zara, trousers from H&M, bag from Monki

Last weekend I was in Barcelona for the launch of Seat Mii by Mango and to visit the Mango fashion show. I'll tell you more about this trip soon, but here's what I wore! It was really nice to be back in Spain because it was a lot warmer than it is in Holland.

Suit from Supertrash

Oh, Netflix! Spent this weekend catching up with a ton of episodes of Weeds, I don't know why I didn't start watching that show before! It's great. This outfit was shot by the boys of OOTD Magazine.

Coat from H&M

When visiting my parents over Christmas we went to a museum with lots of cool taxidermy. Most of the animals looked a bit dodgy, which made it extra fun. How have you all been? Hope you had a great start to 2014!
